Live Migration On Hyper -V
Environment:
What is Live Migration?
When Hyper-V first debuted, its only migration technology was “Quick Migration”. This technology, which still exists and is still useful, is a nearly downtime-free method for moving a virtual machine from one host to another within a failover cluster. Quick Migration was followed by Live Migration, which is a downtime-free technique for performing the same function. Live Migration has since been expanded with a number of enticing features, including the ability to move between two hosts that do not use failover clustering.
Practical Work:
First of all, we need two Hyper-V machine
Note: (I select two machines
1. Kamrul ADDS 2. Webserver-1)
Then, we have to installed the Hyper -V feature on both of Machine (which machine we migrate)
We do the same work on “kamrul ADDS” and “Webserver-1”
We can also select the PRI Switch Or after the Installation we can select the Switch Or change the switch
Which protocol; we use to Migration .I select Kerberos
We can also change the Browse
Mark the Restart If the machine needs Restart
Now, go to 🡺 Server Manager 🡺 Check the feature of Hyper-V
After install I connect the Network Adapter , Before, we can also doing this work.
Now, we migration this (Virtual Machine-1) to WEBSERVER-1
ADDS to WEBSERVER-1
Choose Move type, Move the virtual machine Or Move the virtual machine ‘s storage
We select the folder in WEBSERVER-1 (folder name migration)
Now, we check this to go to Name: WEBSERVER-1
So, this the process of Live Migration.
